Installation

BARAS is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Choose your platform below for installation instructions.

Download

Visit the download section on the homepage to get the latest version for your platform.

Installation Steps

Windows

Windows Installation

1. Download BARAS_x64-setup.exe from the download section
2. Run the installer
3. Follow the installation wizard
4. Launch BARAS from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut

Note

Windows may show a SmartScreen warning for unsigned apps. Click “More info” then “Run anyway” to proceed.

macOS

macOS Installation

1. Download BARAS_aarch64.dmg (Apple Silicon) from the download section
2. Open the DMG file
3. Drag BARAS to the Applications folder
4. Close the DMG window

Gatekeeper Warning

macOS blocks unsigned apps by default. If you see “BARAS cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer”:

Option 1: Right-click method

1. Right-click (or Control-click) the BARAS app in Applications
2. Select “Open” from the menu
3. Click “Open” in the dialog

Option 2: Terminal command

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/BARAS.app

Then open BARAS normally.

Linux

Linux Installation

1. Download BARAS_amd64.AppImage from the download section
2. Make the file executable:

   chmod +x BARAS_*.AppImage

3. Run the AppImage:

   ./BARAS_*.AppImage

Desktop Integration

For a desktop menu entry, you can use AppImageLauncher or create a .desktop file manually.

NVIDIA GPU Users

If you see a blank/white window, this is a known WebKitGTK issue with NVIDIA drivers. Run with:

WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 ./BARAS_*.AppImage

For a permanent fix, create a .desktop file with this environment variable:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=BARAS
Exec=env WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 /path/to/BARAS.AppImage
Type=Application
Categories=Game;Utility;

First Launch

After installation, launch BARAS. On first run:

1. BARAS will prompt you to select your SWTOR combat log directory

2. The default location is:

   • Windows: Documents\Star Wars - The Old Republic\CombatLogs
   • macOS/Linux: Check your SWTOR installation directory

3. Enable combat logging in SWTOR if not already enabled:

   • In-game: Preferences > Combat Logging > Enable Combat Logging
